Hydrostatic drive system

The hydrostatic drive system (1) has a working hydraulic system (2) and a hydraulic pump for the supply of working hydraulic system. The pump is driven by a drive engine, particularly a combustion engine. The pump is formed as a variable pump adjusted in a delivery volume (4). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hydrostatic drive system of a mobile drive machine, particularly an industrial truck.
