Device and method for recognising the correct usage of an alcohol measuring device by a driver in a vehicle

The device has a camera unit (14) including an image area for detecting a vision area of a driver. An evaluation and control unit (12) is connected with a drive control unit (16), the camera unit and an alcohol measuring device (10) for detecting vehicle movement. The camera unit is activated by the evaluation and control unit based on the drive control unit such that the vision area of the driver is detected. The drive control unit is connected with a Controller area network (CAN)bus of a vehicle. Records of the driver are stored in a data storage unit (18). An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting correct usage of an alcohol measuring device by a driver in a vehicle.
