Vehicle seat

The seat (1) has a frame (5) fastened to a vehicle body, and a seat assembly (2) movable relative to the frame from one position to another position by an adjustment movement. Damping members are arranged between the seat assembly and the frame for partially absorbing the adjustment movement. Counteracting force (B) acting against the adjustment movement is partially exercised while pivoting the seat assembly from the former position to the latter position by the damping members, which consist of gas-filled supports (3, 4) or a hydraulic piston cylinder mechanism. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting damping in a vehicle seat.
