Electricity supply for vehicles

The supply has a battery (12) and a distributor with a battery pole input (14) and outputs (16, 16a, 16b) for providing battery voltage for various loads. A semiconductor switch (18) is driven between the input and one of the outputs by an electronic control unit (22). The control unit is provided with an input interface (30) for sensor signals representing operating parameters. A bi-directional bus system i.e. Controller area network (CAN), is connected to the interface. A priority-controlled consumption reduction is performed based on the parameters queried by the bus system.
