Exhaust gas cooler

The device (1) has a housing (2) for accommodating an exhaust gas cooling channel (3), a coolant channel (4) and a bypass channel (5), where the cooling channel is cooled by coolant flowing through the coolant channel. A heat-resistant hose part (9) is provided in the bypass channel and made of open-porous fiber cloth. The housing has a cover element (10) for closing the bypass channel, where the cover element is detachably connected with the housing. A connecting part (11) is provided in the hose part.
