The system has a housing forming a conduit (19) for circulating air between outer side (E) and inner side of a motor vehicle. Plasma generator devices are placed in the conduit. A single high voltage electrical power supply circuit (18) is provided with a single high voltage electrical source. The plasma generator devices include plasma generators connected to the power source via switches controlled by a control unit i.e. microprocessor circuit. The plasma generator devices are selected from an ozonizer (16), an ionizer (17), an electrostatic filter (15) and a catalyst regenerator. The switches are selected from an electromechanical relay, an insulated gate bipolar transistor relay and MOSFET relay. The voltage of the electrical source ranges between 5 and 10 kilovolts. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a heating/air-conditioning system of a motor vehicle.
