Battery-free device with wireless communication means and method for managing the electric power supply of said communication means
DRIVE
July 27, 2011
The device (2) has a capacitor (12) connected to output and input terminals (10-1, 10-2) of a current generator (10), in a parallel manner. Another capacitor (22) is supplied with current by the generator. A switch (16) is mounted on a current supply line (L1) that supplies current to a wireless communication assembly (14). A low voltage detector (18) controls the switch based on voltage (V12) at the terminals of the former capacitor. A low leakage current type PNP transistor (26) controls supply of current to the latter capacitor. A voltage divider bridge (28) controls the PNP transistor. The switch is in the form of bipolar or MOS transistor. The current generator is in the form of photovoltaic cell, wind turbine, inverse piezo effect element, piezo-electric element or inductive element. An independent claim is also included for a method for managing supply of electric current to a wireless communication unit of a batterryless device.
