A driving support system comprising a friction braking determination unit (21a) that determines that braking by a friction brake (44a) has been performed in a vehicle (Co) that is capable of performing the braking by a regeneration brake (44b) and by the friction brake (44a); a vicinity situation information acquisition unit (21b) that acquires information indicating a situation in the vicinity of the vehicle (Co); a necessary braking force determination unit (21c) that determines a necessary braking force required for responding to the situation in the vicinity of the vehicle (Co); and a consumption energy notification unit (2 1d) that, if the braking by the friction brake (44a) has been performed in a condition where the necessary braking force is less than or equal to a maximum braking force of the regeneration brake (44b), determines energy consumed by the friction brake (44a) and notifies information indicating the consumed energy.
