Stud for a tire

An anti-slip structure for disposal in a recesses or a tire tread band (34) is described. The structure (100, 200) comprises a first, radially inner portion (110, 210), a second, radially outer portion (120, 220) and a third, core portion (130, 230). The core portion comprises an assembly of a plurality of pin structures (132, 232) for providing traction over ice, each pin structure having a base portion (134, 234) secured within the first portion (110, 210) and a pin (136, 236) extending through the second portion (120, 220). The base portions (134, 234) form or combine to a common base portion of the assembly.
