Method for manufacturing hollow bodies from plastic, plastic bodies with new properties

The method involves providing a material composite, and feeding the material composite to an opened cavity of a heated molding tool, where the tool is closed. Pressure is applied into pressurized sections of the material composite such that one of two panels or sheet-like layers of thermoplastic synthetic material (10, 20) of the material composite is thermoformed, and a foam layer (30) of the material composite is compressed in compressed sections (70) of the material composite resulting in a permanent deformation of the layers of synthetic material and the foam layer. An independent claim is also included for a hollow plastic body comprising a material composite.
