The method involves providing a definite hot gas mass flow with a definite time-dependent pressure pulses. A turbine of an exhaust turbo charger is operated using a pressure pulse hot gas mass flow in an internal combustion motor relevant operating region. A measured variable of the exhaust turbo charger is determined in a definite time slot, and a momentary degree of efficiency and momentary speed ration of the turbine are determined based on the determined measured variable. A momentary turbine characteristic is formed. An independent claim is also included for a measurement control center for executing a method for checking a dynamic operating performance of an exhaust turbo charger of an internal combustion engine comprising a hot gas generating device.
