Method for monitoring and managing driver attention loads

The present invention relates to a method for enhancing driving performance by monitoring a driver's workload due to the performance of secondary tasks, the method comprising the steps of: measuring a visual activity of the driver based on the driver's head and/or eye movement; assessing the driver's level of workload based on the measured visual activity; and adapting at least one of the interfaces of integrated, in-vehicle information systems to the driver's level of workload for ensuring that proper attention is given to the driving tasks.
