The strut (1) has a spring (23) wound between two spring plates (21, 25). A piston (27) is provided in a hydraulic space (29) and stays in angular connection with one of the spring plates. The hydraulic space is connected with a hydraulic power system (31). An oscillation damper (3) has operating spaces (11, 13) filled with hydraulic damping medium. A piston rod (7) generates axial displacement movements. An equalizing space (15) compensates damping medium volume suppressed by the rod. The power system has a pump (33) that is connected upstream to an accumulator (39).
