The cross element (10) is provided with a supporting section (12), which is formed by plastic material (19), where a hybrid component is also provided. A lower support device (14) is provided for supporting a pedestrian safety element. The support device is formed by the supporting section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cross element.
