Method for locating a vehicle with automatic recording of the position of the vehicle when the latter is locked

The method involves recording positioning of a motor vehicle (10) in a memory of a portable telephone (30) to determine relative positioning of the vehicle relative to the telephone, where the positioning is formed by an absolute positioning coordinate. Recording is triggered in an automatic manner during state changing of the vehicle from an unlocked state to a locked state. The automatic recording is carried out by emitting a recording order via a portable locking/unlocking remote control (20) of the vehicle by direct connection between the remote control and the telephone.
