Method for operating a wind turbine during a disturbance in the grid
DRIVE
March 2, 2011
The wind turbine, under normal operating conditions, delivers generated electricity to the grid which is proportional to the wind speed. In the event of a fault in the grid, the wind turbine remains connected and delivers electricity at a lower power level. On returning to normal working conditions, a third power level is generated temporarily which higher than the normal rating. The short burst of high power is generated by a short circuit, controlling an intermediate store, control of a chopper in the direct voltage intermediate circuit or control of the rotor rotation.
