A pedestrian-protecting air-bag arrangement

A pedestrian protection air-bag arrangement for use in a motor vehicle, the arrangement comprising: an air-bag (1) having a central portion (3) with an inlet (6) to receive pressurised gas to inflate the air-bag (1), and first and second side portions (4) that are in fluid communication with the central portion (3), each of which includes a rolled portion of the air-bag and is spaced apart from, and does not overlie, the main portion (3); and an elongate housing (13) having first and second ends, the air-bag (1) being contained in the housing (13) so that the side portions are located at or near the respective ends, and a lid (22) for sealing the housing (13) prior to activation of the air-bag (1).
