An airbag arrangement for a motor vehicle

A side airbag arrangement (1) for a motor vehicle is disclosed, the arrangement comprising first and second inflatable cushions (15, 18) and an inflator (13) actuable to inflate both cushions. The first cushion (15) is arranged in fluid communication with the inflator (13) to receive inflating gas directly from the inflator, and the second cushion (18) is arranged in fluid communication with the first cushion (15) to receive inflating gas via the first cushion (15). The first and second cushions are configured for inflation into respective deployed positions in which at least an upper region (35) of the first cushion (15) is located adjacent the second cushion (18) on the outboard side of the second cushion (18).
