Cover plate for a motor vehicle

The panel (1) has a U-shaped channel (2) for receiving a seal (3) that includes two sealing lips (11, 12). One of the sealing lips rests against a limb (4) of the U-shaped channel in an uninterrupted manner. The other sealing lip rests against another limb (5) of the U-shaped channel in an uninterrupted manner. The latter limb includes holding ribs (18) that are spaced apart from the latter sealing lip. The holding ribs are provided at rims of openings (17) in the latter limb of the U-shaped channel.
