Charging socket for charging an electric car with means for communicating between charging socket and vehicle

The socket (1) has a communication unit for data communication between the socket and a vehicle i.e. electric car. The communication unit comprises an evaluation-/processing unit (7), a display-/input unit (14) and an electrical vehicle computer connected with an electrical coupling (32), where signal conversion of communicated data takes place in the evaluation-/ processing unit. A universal serial bus (USB)connector is electrically connected to the display-/ input unit. A charging cable (21) is provided in a housing and comprises a connector assembly (22).
