Method of encapsulating an electronic tire tag and device

A tire tag (10) for a pneumatic tire (12), the tire tag adapted to sense at least one engineering condition of the pneumatic tire (12); the tire tag (10) comprising: a body; a monitoring package (14) connected to the body; an antenna (18) connected to the body; the antenna (18) being spaced from the monitoring package (14); and the body including an encapsulation material (42), wherein the body includes an encapsulation mold (46), wherein the encapsulation mold (46) includes walls; a major portion of the antenna (18) being disposed within one of the walls of the encapsulation mold (46).
