The method involves connecting a radiator element (10) with a positive temperature coefficient heating element, and forming a metal sheet strip (16) within a housing. A contact lug (26) is electrically connected to the metal sheet strip by plastic transformation in a closure of the housing. The housing is formed with a lower housing component (2) and an upper housing component. Crimp portions are integrally formed to surround the metal sheet strip and the contact lug. The crimp portions are connected to a contact bridge (34). An independent claim is also included for an electric heating device comprising a radiator element and a positive temperature coefficient heating element.
