An internal combustion engine that includes: an exhaust gas turbocharger () including a turbine () that is situated in an exhaust duct (), and including a compressor () that is situated in an intake duct (); a bypass valve () via which at least a portion of an exhaust gas mass flow of the internal combustion engine may be led past the turbine (); and an exhaust gas flap () that is situated in the exhaust duct (), downstream from the turbine () and the bypass valve ().
