Retractable armrest for automotive vehicles.

The armrest has a support unit (20) mounted pivoting around a shaft (18) between deployed and retracted positions when a sliding door is closed and opened, respectively. An elastic unit (42) passes the support unit from the deployed position to the retracted position under the effect of a lateral force on the support unit. The unit (42) permits to integrate and disintegrated the support unit with the shaft.
