Stud and tire with a tread equipped with such studs

Spikes for improving the grip of tires on ice and snow comprise a lower section (3) which has a dome-shaped stud (11) at the top. An upper collar (2) fits over the lower section and the stud projects beyond it. An independent claim is included for tires fitted with the spikes.
