The module has a lens (4) placed in front of a halogen/xenon lamp type light source (3) associated with reflector (2). The lens deviates the rays directly emitted by the source and/or emitted by the source and then reflected by the reflector. The deviation includes steps for total reflection of the rays in the lens. The lens has an output face which is a succession of flutes where total reflection of the rays entering the lens takes place. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle headlight comprising an optical module.
