Secondary battery with two current terminals on a side of the casing

Electrochemical cell comprises a container, and two current output terminals (6, 7) situated on a single wall of the container. Each current output terminal is made of copper and presents a shoulder (16). An independent claim is also included for manufacture of cell in which one of terminals is secured by laser welding or crimping, by placing a shoulder of current output terminal on a container wall, covering the shoulder in a washer for transmitting laser energy, and laser welding the shoulder to the wall; or forming an opening through a container wall, placing gasket(s) (8a,8b) around the opening, placing a bearing washer on the gasket, inserting a terminal through the washer and gasket, and securing the terminal by crimping with axial displacement of material.
