Electrical device for locking/unlocking a steering column

The device has a lock (1) including a housing (5) and a recess (6) that receive a tab (17) of a rotating lever (4) for locking the lock in locking and unlocking positions of a steering column. A rotary wheel (2) carrying a cam (3) is moved by a motor controlling movement of the lock in the locking and unlocking positions. The lock is moved along a longitudinal axis using action of the cam.
