The fastening device, especially for occupant restraint systems of motor vehicles, has a first connecting element with plastically twistable plates with rotatable tabs, and a second connecting element with openings into which are guided the tabs of the first connecting element. The second connecting element has positioning means in the region of the openings which retain the rotatable tabs of the first connecting element after the twisting of the plates into a twisted position.
