Method of implementing an electric lock for preventing the reverse movement of an automobile drive system

The software implemented method for the realizing of an electronic roll lock for motor vehicles with an automatic clutch entails establishing the predetermined direction of travel, monitoring in continuous or discontinuous discrete time intervals whether the vehicle is rolling and, if applicable, establishing the actual roll direction which is compared with the predetermined direction of travel and if these values do not correspond the slope negative force is calculated in dependence of which the necessary holding torque is calculated and set on the clutch.
