Method and apparatus for controlling an electric booster of an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a method for controlling an electric booster installed on an internal combustion engine, which comprises a turbocharger. The electric booster is arranged upstream of the turbocharger compressor and activated for optimum electrical power consumption if a lugging mode is detected. Thus, driving convenience especially in alpine or mountainous regions can be improved.
