Vehicle with link to the ground enabling independent wheel suspension and active control of the chassis height
DRIVE
January 18, 2006
The vehicle has suspension brackets (4), each connected to a body shell by a height variation mechanism allowing to vary relative height of the bracket with respect to the shell. Each mechanism is controlled by a height control unit. A centralized controlling unit controls the control unit. The action of the control unit on a same side of the shell is coordinated to simultaneously vary the relative height of each bracket. The mechanism is constituted by a height variation arm (3), a connecting rod (7), an anchorage (11) and a lever (12). The height control unit comprises of a jack, a cardan joint, a transmission shaft and an electric motor.
