The front bonnet for a motor vehicle has pedestrian protection at least in areas. An elastic air ducting channel (20) is installed below the cover skin (15) of the bonnet in the area (16) designed for pedestrian protection. The air ducting channel is located inside a space (13) for keeping free for the pedestrian protection. The air ducting channel at least in areas has soft wall (23) designed in accordance with pedestrian protection recommendations. The air ducting channel is integrated into a multi-layered structure which absorbs energy in the event of an impact.
