Control device for a windscreen wipe and wash installation on a vehicle

The control unit for a windscreen wiping and washing system on a motor vehicle has a control device adjustable to different operating modes of the system, with an operating element in the form of a steering column lever which in a first position can activate a feed of spray water and a multi-cycled after-wiping in combination. A second position of the operating element is provided in which an initiated after-wiping of the windscreen is ended early. An independent claim is included for a method for the control of a windscreen wiping and washing system applied to the aforesaid control unit.
