Method and apparatus for filtering an air mixture in a gas turbine
DRIVE
January 11, 2006
The method for the filtering of an air mixture entails coarse filtering of the air mixture (3), feeding the coarse filtered air mixture to a compressor (11), and fine filtering of the air mixture leaving the compressor. At least a portion of the fine filtered air mixture is used in a power plant (17) for the cooling of at least one component of a turbine (15) which may be a blade (19) and/or a combustion chamber wall (21). An independent claim is included for a device for the filtering of an air mixture comprising a suction housing (5) to draw in an air mixture from the environment, a coarse filter (9), a compressor, and a second filter (13) for fine filtering.
