Apparatus and method for course prediction of moving objects

The method involves computing the future movements of the object relative to the vehicle in advance, determining only the instantaneous positions of the objects with a sensing arrangement with which the vehicle is equipped and using a lower order dynamic model to predict the future object course depending on the instantaneous object position under the assumption that all detected objects have essentially the same course. An independent claim is also included for a course prediction device.
