Transverse beam

The beam (1) has a component (7) e.g. instrument panel, attached at the beam using a fastener (5), such that the fastener is constructed as a single piece with the beam. The fastener includes a guide conduct for the component with a degree of freedom in a direction. An impact protection device (8) provides a defined displacement of the component against the fastener at a distance. An independent claim is also included for a cockpit arrangement with a transverse beam.
