Ignition lock for a motor vehicle
DRIVE
December 21, 2005
A rotor (9) is accommodated inside the housing (2) of an ignition lock (1) and provided with an insertion space for the ignition key. When the key is inserted an electronic code is exchanged between the key and the ignition lock resulting in a release of the locking function in case of a positive recognition. A lever (37) sliding along the outer contour (38, 43) of the rotor (9) facilitates a mechanical locking action. There can also be a function for the prevention of the removal of the key at an inappropriate time.
