The invention relates to a device (1) for reducing a pressure applied by a seat belt, wherein the device is clipped around a seat belt (7), comprising a first clip element (2) and a second clip element (3), of which one each is placed to either side of the belt and clipped together, and wherein the locking force is greater than a retracting force exerted on the belt by a belt tensioning device. Using the device according to the invention affords the advantage that the pressure from the belt tensioning device applied via the belt on the wearer of a seat belt, can be removed completely.
