Fuel injector with multipiece injection valve member and with pressure amplifier

The fuel injector (3) has a multipart injector unit (18) with two needle parts (18.1,18.2). A control area (43) is fixed on the second needle part (18.2). The injector is connected with high pressure accumulator (1) for fuel, and operated by a control valve (32). The injector unit is biased by a spring (20) in closing direction. A movable damper (49) is arranged on the injector unit to limit damping area (42).
