Spring and damper unit for a chassis of an automotive vehicle

The spring damper combination (1) for a competition vehicle suspension has a hydraulic master cylinder (4) forming a suspension strut to support the vehicle body (2). A hydraulic slave cylinder (5) is positioned remotely and connected by hydraulic piping (7) to the master cylinder. The slave cylinder is mounted on a spring (10) to move with a damper (18) in the strut.
