Wheel suspension with a spring-damper strut

DRIVE April 18, 2012
Source
The suspension has a spring-damper strut (10) connected with a steering-knuckle support (20). One end of a suspension arm (30) is pivotably supported around a pivot axis (A2). Another end of the arm is hinged under formation of a bearing point (21) at the steering-knuckle support. A steering rotational axis (A1) is defined by the bearing point and a kinematics point of a spring-damper strut support bearing (11). The spring-damper strut is arranged diagonal to the suspension arm when viewing from side of the suspension.
