The center console (10) for a motor vehicle has an inner section (12,14) extending in the longitudinal direction (L), and at least one side element (16,18) which can be fitted on the inner section. The inner section comprises two elements extending in the center console's longitudinal direction and interconnected along a connecting face (VF) which also extends in the center console's longitudinal direction. The connecting face, at least in sections, extends orthogonally to the transverse direction (Q) of the center console.
