Method and system for determining the torque desired by the driver in an internal combustion engine
DRIVE

The computer receives an input (PV) from a sensor on the accelerator pedal and there is a speed input and inputs for other engine operating measurements. Measurement fields (KF) are set up in a computer block. After a first start step (S1), old and new measurement fields are compared in a second step, (S2). If the old and new measurement fields are the same, a desired torque (TQI-SP) and control commands are calculated in subsequent steps (S6-S14). If the old and new measurement fields are different, a comparison step (S3) and a time delay step (S4) feed a signal back to the input of the second step.
