Cover assembly for fuel tank

A cover assembly (10,110,210) for a fuel tank (12) of a vehicle includes a cover (42,142,242) made of a metal material adapted to close an opening (30) in the fuel tank (12) having a fuel reservoir (34) disposed therein and an insert (54,154,254) made of a plastic material molded to the cover (42,142,242) to form a plurality of members to allow components to be attached thereto. The insert (54,154,254) is integral, unitary, and one-piece.
