A cover assembly (10) for a fuel tank (12) of a vehicle includes a cover (42) adapted to close an opening (30) in the fuel tank (12) having a fuel reservoir (34) disposed therein and a carrier (58) disposed within the cover (42) and adapted to allow a plurality of components to be attached thereto.
