Combination tractor and trailer

A combination of tractor (12) and trailer (14) includes a drive engine (18), at least one electronic control unit (34, 48) and trailer coupling (16). The coupling has at least one electronic and/or hydraulic connection (54, 58). At least one sensor (42) is fitted to the trailer coupling, to generate signal for the mechanical coupling state of the trailer apparatus.
