Towing vehicle connector

The vehicle has a vehicle-side clutch unit (14) for coupling a trailer-side clutch unit of a trailer brake assembly. A controllable drive unit (32) drives a pressure source (34) of the brake assembly, where the drive unit is a hydraulic drive, electrical drive or mechanical drive. An electronic control unit (ECU) (38) actuates the drive unit. The vehicle-side clutch unit comprises a sensor (28) connected with the control unit with which coupling of a clutch is controlled to the vehicle-side clutch unit in dependence of the drive unit.
