Headlight unit for motor vehicles

The vehicle headlamp assembly (2) has a headlamp housing (3) at a carrier body (6) which has a bonded distortion body (11). The carrier is secured to the bodywork frame by a mounting (8), with the distortion body placed in front of and under the headlamp housing in the illuminating direction and offset to one side. The distortion body has a number of sections (17), across the distortion direction (18) on an impact.
