Windscreen wiper device and method for wiping a windscreen

The device has at least one wiper arm movable between two end positions for holding a wiping blade, a driving device for moving the wiper arm back and forth between the two end positions and a controller, by means of which a motor of the driving device is controllable to move the wiper arm with only one motor speed for all wiping frequencies from one end position to the other end position and the wiper arm is held in at least one end position for a length of time that is a function of the wiping frequency when operating at the lower of the two wiping frequencies. An independent claim is also included for a method of wiping a windscreen.
